Church on Tarwin has a range of ministry areas to encourage people of all ages, interests and backgrounds to connect with others.
Our connect groups are a great way for us to connect during the week. They are places where we can share our lives, pray together, and have a coffee and a chat. This is where we can engage with one another and grow together.
We have a number of groups that meet weekly or fortnightly, from women’s to men’s, from craft to coffee to Bible study. There is a group for everyone.
For more details on the various groups, please contact Ps Chris Carmody
Tarwin Street Kids
Tarwin Street Kids is our Sunday kid's program which is aimed at primary school age children. Our children’s leader Rebecca has a desire to see young lives grow in the goodness of God. She uses her many years of experience working with children to bring a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere to our kid's ministry. Rebecca is currently studying her Bachelors in Ministry
District 7 Youth
District 7 Youth Group meets weekly on a Wednesday night for teenagers in years 7 to 12. It focuses on the goodness and greatness of God, and our value on the earth. It's a place where we seek to establish trust, stability, communication, family and friendship in a safe environment.
MAN2MAN men's group has been set up to encourage men both young and old to join together in fellowship on a regular basis and to help them grow both socially and spiritually in the love of God. We meet on the first Saturday of each month with a hearty breakfast and aim to have a different guest speaker come along to share with us.
We have a wonderful group of ladies who attend our coffee mornings and study nights. We love to share stories about our lives, the good or the bad, with each other. We are there to support and comfort one another and to just do life together, like a family would.
If you are needing something extra in your life, or just need good friends around you, then give the church a call and ask to speak to Rachael so she can give you the dates of upcoming events.
Church on Tarwin is very active in its overseas missionary work, particularly in countries such as Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan. We are closely associated with African Action International, which was founded by members of our church. You can check out their current projects here.
Prayer stands out as one of the Lord’s key elements in building the Kingdom of God. It is also a journey on which the Lord will take us when we are willing.
We have a prayer meeting Wednesday afternoons during the school terms, from 2:30 - 3:00pm.
We also have a prayer chain at Church on Tarwin. If you would like pray, please contact administration.
Kids club is on Monday nights from 3:30 - 5:00pm during the school term. This is a place where every child has the opportunity to express themselves, find friends and do an assortment of activities. It is where what they want to do counts, and they have the opportunity to help to direct and lead games and activities if they want to. We play games, do crafts, drama, cooking and lots more...
The Art group is a group for friendship, connection and a place to express creativity. They meet every second Tuesday from 1:30 to 3:30pm and explore a variety of different kinds of art expressions.
Every Sunday our worship team lead our church in praising God in song. We also meet together during the week to practise and fellowship together in a creative space.
